Local talent will be taking the stage in Rider Die Burlesque’s new variety show, celebrating pop culture icons this spring.

After several sold-out shows, the burlesque group is coming back to the Rivercity Stage with “Who Do You Think You Are?”, described as a campy and vibrant variety show featuring favourite icons from the pop culture world.

“From superheroes to beloved music icons, this unique production promises to dazzle audiences,” a release says.

Audiences can expect a night filled with electrifying dance routines, mesmerizing burlesque acts, aerialists, singers and comedy! The show is a celebration of local artists’ jaw-dropping talents that bring to life these iconic characters. The show will feature a diverse group of local performers ranging in age from their 20s to 50s, with a few special guest performers joining from Tofino and Parksville.

The amount of talent we have locally is quite staggering. It’s part of what makes this show so special. Ordinary people, doing extraordinary things,” said Rider Die Burlesque Founder Morgan “Honey Rider” McKee. “These performers are your neighbours, hairdressers, forestry workers and your nurses!”

According to the release, the event promises to “entertain, inspire, and leave you in awe.” The show will be held over two nights at Rivercity Stage, April 12 and 13. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets for the 19+ evenbt can be purchased at riderdieburlesque.com.
