Campbell River Minor Hockey scored a hat trick this past month, with three players being selected from the Bantam A Tyees to participate in the Male U16 BC Cup.

After winning the provincial championship in Salmon Arm just one month ago, forwards Cody Savey and River Fahey, along with defenceman Matthew Ubriaco, return to what will be familiar territory and golden memories.

The U16 Cup is a jamboree-style tournament where players are placed on one of six teams.  Players put their best effort forward in hopes of being selected to participate in the U16 Provincial Camp this July.

The decision made by Savey last summer to move from his hometown of Gold River to captain the Tyees and help lead the team to a provincial championship makes his achievement a well-deserved honour.

Leading scorer Fahey, who is coming off an outstanding four-goal performance during the gold medal game, hopes to continue where he left off.

Finally, assistant captain Ubriaco will be only one of six defencemen on Vancouver Island participating in the U16 Cup and the only defenceman selected to play from north of Duncan.
