Stone named Storm GM

The role of General Manager has been added to the duties of Campbell River Storm Head Coach, Lee Stone

The role of General Manager has been added to the duties of Campbell River Storm Head Coach, Lee Stone.

“Lee has proved himself in this area over last season, and as an organization, we extend every confidence in him moving forward,” said Wes Roed, team governor.

In addition to the day-to-day coaching duties, Stone will take on the responsibility of all player moves including trades and the signing of new recruits.

“With Lee’s extensive knowledge of player personnel at the midget and junior levels (and beyond), we feel that this will give the Storm an advantage when it comes to filling out our roster both this season and seasons to come,” Roed said.

“Lee recently signed a two-year extension to coach the Storm (that will now include general manager duties), and all parties are excited to see this season get under way and continue on the road to success.”

Stone said he is honoured to have been given the promotion.

“I’m very honoured that the Storm organization has chosen to extend my position to include General Manager responsibilities,” said Stone. “I would like to thank the Spooners, Kevin and Linda, and Wes Roed for the faith they’ve shown in me. I look forward to successfully completing our collective goal of winning a VIJHL Championship.”
