Sunday, October 14, 2012 will mark the 23rd annual Miracle Beach 10k & 5K Run/Walk plus the 1k Kids Fun Run.
This event is billed as the “friendliest little road race on the island.” Participants enjoy a flat, scenic course that winds around the country roads in Miracle Beach. After the race there is soup, cookies, draw prizes and awards.
The race starts at 10 am (9:30 a.m. for walkers who will take longer than 1:15 hours). Registration runs from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. (walkers register by 9:15 a.m.). The kids fun run for kids under 10 is free and takes place at approximately 11:15 a.m. (register at the race site).
You can register for the 10 & 5 k events on line at www.raceonline.ca; you can mail your registration to River Runners, PO Box 11, Campbell River V9W 4Z9 or drop off your completed entry form at the Sportsplex; attention Linda Nagle.
Early entry fees are $20 ($10 for youth under 19) or $45 for a family of four living in the same household. Fees go up on Oct. 11. Anyone registering before Oct. 11 will be entered to win a great draw prize from Shoppers Drug Mart.
