The North Island Royals Bantam AAA returned to the diamond at Nunns Creek last Sunday with the Victoria Red visiting.

The double header was played under sunny skies.

The first pitch was thrown at noon as Austin Brown had another strong outing on the mound earning an 8-0 victory. He was backed up by a strong Royals defence with Keiran Bowles at third, Thomas Green at short, Noah Fatur at second and Bryce Casorzo on first.   The outfield was spectacular also with Kieran Carcary, Nolan Baker and Keiran Finn catching everthing that came their way.

In the second game of the double header, Ethan Christiansen took to the mound for a strong outing closed out by Griffin Mailicoat.

The Royals found themselves down 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning but were able to rally back on the bottom for six runs.

Victoria fought back for two in the top of the sixth but the Royals answered and won 7-4.

Strong outings by Ben Swing behind the plate, Aaron Badovinic in left field and Braydon Baker rounded out a great weekend for the Royals.

The North Island Royals thank the following sponsors: Halls West, Fox Disposal, White Hat Drycleaners, Discovery Chiropractic, Storey Creek Trading Ltd, Mike Finn DDS, Bill Howich Chrysler and CR Transport.
