Midget B Ravens fly

The Campbell River Windsor Plywood Midget B Ravens played a pair of games last weekend.

On Saturday they hosted Cowichan Valley C team at the friendly confines of Rod Brind’Amour Arena. The Ravens flew away to an early 3-0 lead by the end of the first period then cruised to a 7-0 final victory as goalie.

Will McLean was between the pipes for the team’s first shut-out of the season.

Call-ups Bryce Turko and Mason Osterhout-Code both played well in this game with strong defensive zone plays.

On Sunday, the Ravens migrated south to play Juan de Fuca B (JDF). JDF was also in the A2 division and relegated to B with the Ravens after tiering games.  The Ravens opened the scoring early and kept it coming often, taking a 5-1 at the end of the first period.

The final score was 16-4 for the Ravens.  Call-up Riley Wellman acquitted himself very well and contributed at both ends of the floor as did regulars Josh Fladager and Matthew Leard.

Aggregate scoring was led by Nolan Morrison (8 goals, 5 assists).
