The Storey Creek Men's Club played for aid during last Wednesday's weekly session, raising $187 that was donated during the annual Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock tournament played at the club three days later.
"As a Men's Club organization, the executive feels we need to contribute to society in more than just providing fun for our membership," said Kevin Mills. "On behalf of the executive we would like to thank everyone for participating in last week's 50/50 to help with the cause."
Mills added that members were encouraged to share any changes or ideas they might have for the club when it hosts its AGM Oct. 7, one week after the final night of Men's Night play.
"The executive feels we lose direction from the membership as we speed through the AGM to get to the prizes," he said. "This way, the members who would like to see change or provide insight and direction will be able to have more of a say."
On the course, Malcolm Hing wins low gross with a nine-hole round of 36, giving him back-to-back wins. Michael McPherson's gross 37 netted him a 32.5 for low net in the first flight.
Al McDougal had a ton of birdies and shot a 37 for first low gross in the second flight, with Brock Thomson winning low net in the flight. Greg Franz won the third flight low gross with a 41 and Dano Fillion took low net with a net 32.5.
No.1 Autobody won the team game with car buffs Geoff Smith, Rob Jones, Michael McPherson and Bill Rogers. Roper Aesthetic Dentistry came in second and Bulletproof Construction came in third.
