Campbell River’s Ryan Howich represented B.C. in a nation-wide sporting competition for the deaf.

Howich, 16, was named to Team BC for this year’s Canada Deaf Games, which took place May 15-20.

The games are held every two years and include hockey, curling, volleyball, and bowling.

Howich was selected for Team BC in his first year of eligibility to try out for the team.

The hockey player was scouted at the Christmas Midget AAA tournament in Richmond due to his physical style and skills.
