Liam Deagle says he looks forward to continuing improving and get back to the national gymnastics stage.

Campbell River’s own Liam Deagle recently returned home from Edmonton, Alta., where he represented Team BC in the National Gymnastics Championships. It was not only his first National Championship, but also Campbell River’s first time sending an athlete to compete on the national stage alongside the best in the nation.

Deagle competed in four of the six men’s events to help Team BC finish in fifth place overall.

Deagle placed 12th in the nation on floor, rings and high bar while finishing in 21st on the parallel bars.

Deagle says it was a great experience to see Canada’s best gymnasts in action and he is looking forward to continuing to improve so that one day he will be one of them.
