The Strathcona Nordic Ski Club hosts its annual swap and AGM on Oct. 25 in Courtenay

The Strathcona Nordic Ski Club hosts its annual nordic gear swap and annual general meeting on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Queneesh Elementary School in Courtenay.

At the swap, you can sell equipment that you aren’t using and look for some great deals on equipment that you need. You can also join in on the AGM and catch up on the latest cross-country ski news for Vancouver Island.

The schedule for Oct. 26 is: 9:30-11:30 a.m., cross-country ski equipment drop off; 11-11:30 a.m., waxing clinic with Coach Dave; 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., chilli lunch; 12:15-1 p.m., AGM; 1-3 p.m., cross-country ski gear swap; and 3-3:30 p.m., gear and unsold equipment pick up.

At the event, you can also find the Junior Racing team outside by the red Strathcona Nordics tent. They are holding a Wax-o-rama, where you can bring them your classic and skate skis, and for $10, they’ll prep your skis for the new season with a fresh coat of glide wax.

The Strathcona Nordics are only selling cross-country ski gear and accessories. No alpine gear and all equipment must be in reasonably good condition.

Additionally, people attending the AGM get in first to the ski swap and everyone is welcome to attend.
