The Advanced Marine Power U13 Crush Volleyball team captured the gold medal at The Island Championships on Sunday in Nanaimo. The girls worked well together defeating the Comox Valley Strikers 25-12 and 25-19 and the Nanaimo Mariners-Dayna 25-8 and 25-18 to place first in their pool.
Heading into Tier 1 playoffs they defeated the Nanaimo Mariners-Taylor 25-13 and 25-20 to advance to the finals.
In the gold medal match, the girls played off against Comox again and defeated them in three sets.
The girls are off to the Provincial championships in Abbotsford April 29 and 30.
