Nanaimo Eagles will be travelling to Campbell River to play the Select on March 17 at 12:30 p.m. in the Rod Brind’Amour Arena.
This is the second game for these teams this season. These two teams are part of the Vancouver Island Special Needs Hockey Association. .
The Select meet twice weekly for practices and scrimmages at Strathcona Gardens. Coach Joel Wheeldon takes them through their paces and encourages each player to be the best hockey player he can be. Coach Wheeldon says that he “is happy with the progression of the team. The team has really come together this year and are looking forward to putting all of their training into action.”
The Campbell River Select is open to all athletes aged 15+ with developmental disabilities. The team is sponsored by Cermaq who provided them with jerseys and socks.
