Campbell River’s Bantam A Tyees entered the Vancouver Island Tier 2 finals as a No. 2 seed.

But it’s been all No. 1 for the KLP Construction bantams since.

After notching a 7-5 win at Powell River Saturday in the opening game of the best-of-3 finals, the Tyees overwhelmed the top-seeded Kings 11-2 in Sunday’s rematch at Rod Brind’Amour Arena.

The win clinched the team the Island Tier 2 banner and a berth in the Mar. 15-20 provincial championship tournament in Cranbrook.

“They’re on a roll,” bantam coach Mike Feeney said of his squad. “They’re definitely peaking at the right time. Everyone’s chipping in, from our top line to the third-line guys.”

Jacob Hartley and Cody Savey each had hat tricks in the sweep.
