Campbell River's Atom B Tyees earned silver medals in their final tournament of the season in Nanaimo.

Campbell River's Atom B Tyees wrapped up their 2014-15 season by claiming silver in a wrap-up tournament at Nanaimo last week.

The rival Juan de Fuca Grizzlies proved to be the Nyrstar Atom B club's nemesis, topping the Tyees 5-2 in the championship final after also rolling to a 9-4 win in round-robin play.

Those results reversed the teams' last meeting, when the Tyees knocked the top-seeded Grizzlies from the Vancouver Island Division 4 playoffs with an upset win in the semifinals.

Kye Benoche and Owen Taylor scored for the Tyees in the final, with assists from Kobe Koizumi and Thomas Nelson.

Campbell River opened the tourney with a 6-4 win over Comox, then skated to a 3-3 draw with host Nanaimo. On day two the Tyees kept up the pace with a big win against Cowichan, 7-4 before running into Juan de Fuca Grizzlies in the round-robin.

Thanks to keeping their penalties low, the Tyees earned 1 point that secured them a rematch with the Grizzlies in the gold-medal game.
