Another season ends at Saratoga Speedway

While some titles had been secured already, others were contested right down to the last race of the year

Saratoga Speedway returned for the season finale on Saturday with Kyte Delivery Service sponsoring the night.

For the first time in many years, The Great Pumpkin Race returned on Saturday, with all classes joining into the race.

The eventual winner was Martin Beaulieu in the No. 11 car. The Crash to Pass cars, Hornet cars, Roadrunners, Bomber cars and the I.M.C.A Modifieds were also on the card, with yet another amazing Firework show capping off the 2015 season.

Coming into the final race of the season, only a few classes had serious point battles to be decided.

Glenn White held a very slim 51 point lead over Nigel Neufeld and Raymond Fortier in the Hornet A division, and Chris Beaulieu held a tight 66 point lead over Travis Stevenson and Troy Tarbuck in the I.M.C.A Modified class.

Some Championships were already won going into Saturday, though.

Rowland Westra had the Hornet B championship won many weeks ago, as he dominated the class throughout the entire season, finishing over 600 points in the lead to crown him the 2015 Hornet B Champion.

In the Roadrunner division, Ryan Guest secured his first ever Roadrunner Championship, coming into the night 334 points ahead of Devon Degraag, making it mathematically impossible for Degraag to catch him.

In the Bomber car division, Boston Larson came into the night 431 points ahead of second place, making him your 2015 Bomber Car Champion.

Finally, in the Crash to Pass division, Sheldon Hopp had his second straight championship also wrapped up before the final night go under way, holding an insurmountable lead over the rest of pack, crowning him the 2016 Crash to Pass Champion.

Even with most of the championships won, some great racing took place on a wet track on Saturday.

Heat races saw wins go to Larson, Guest, Brian Calderwood, Clancey Beamish, Trey Woolcock, Blair Mangles, Dano Bryant and  Travis Stevenson.

Going into the main events, The I.M.C.A Modified and Hornet A championships were still up for grabs. In the Hornet A division, White, who had Hornet B champion Westra filling in for him on the night, carried a 48 point lead over Neufeld going into their 25 lap main event and Westra would not let White down, managing to hold on to take home the 2015 Hornet A championship.

20 laps were awarded to the I.M.C.A Modifieds for their main event. Beaulieu carried a 50 point lead over Stevenson going in and he would not be denied his fourth I.M.C.A Modified championship, holding off Stevenson who made a very strong run for the championship, only finishing 42 points back on Beaulieu.

The rest of the main events saw wins go to Justin Beaulieu in the Bomber class, Guest in the Roadrunner division, Stevenson in the Crash to Pass class, and Woolcock would take home his third Hornet B main event.

Extra laps…With yet another season down, Saratoga Speedway would like to once again thank all of the Sponsors, Fans and of course all of the Race car drivers who come out every weekend to put on a great show for all the fans, without all of you, Saratoga Speedway would not be where it is today, and with that said, they look forward to seeing you all back for the 2016 season.
