I’m concerned about the Canada-China Investment Treaty. I read with horror the content of the treaty.
Sir, again you seems to side-step the democratic rights and obligations of our Parliament.
The treaty is a very important document which will have an enormous negative impact on the Canadian economy in the long run. The treaty gives away Canada’s preferred national rights and/or direct ownership of our resources.
The agreement will have an indirect impact on the Canadian environment and it will have an direct impact on the rights of individual Canadian through foreign corporate controls if not direct Chinese Government controls. It removes the rights of local, provincial and even the federal government and moves the decision making controls to external panels.
I consider this a “Sell out of Canada” orchestrated by you, Sir. Now, Canada will not have only a trade deficit problem with China, we will gives away our profits as well.
