September 25, 1943 - January 23, 2016

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving father, grampy, great-grampy, brother, uncle and friend, William (Bill) Giesbrecht, on Saturday, January 23, 2016 after his courageous and stoic battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Morris, Manitoba on September 25,

1943. Predeceased by parents Bernhard and Annie, siblings Ronald, Elaine

and Beverley.

He survived by son

D. W. Murray Giesbrecht; grandchildren Caitlyn, Dylan, Jude, Taylor, Dayton, Kaylene, Kahayla, Louisa and daughter Cheryl McLean (nee Giesbrecht); grandchildren Carly, Lindsey, Katie and the apple of his eye, great-granddaughter Blakeley. Siblings Doreen, Peter, Edna, Katherine, Viola, Vera, Marlene and many nieces and nephews.

Bill and his family moved to Campbell River in the summer of 1978. Bill will be best remembered for his smile, laugh, quick wit, his love for life and generosity of putting everyone before himself.

For those who knew him they will agree, it is hard to imagine a world without him.

His love of mechanics served him well in his business at C.R. Auto and Marine and he made many friends and touched many lives through this career as a mechanic and fishing guide in the beautiful waters surrounding Campbell River.

We want to offer our sincere thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Campbell River Hospital for their loving, respectful and caring way with our father. Special thanks to Danielle, Evangeline, and Isabelle. You will forever be in our thoughts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Royal Coachman Pub- Carriage Room, 84 Dogwood Street, Campbell River, BC.
