Bill was born in Kenora, Ontario, where he met Evelyn, his wife of 72 years.
They went on to have 5 children David (Shirley), Allen( JoAnne), Carol (Joe), Rob (Connie), and Ray. Bill has 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn and daughter Carol.
After a career as a cement finisher, he retired in Nanaimo and later settled in Campbell River. Bill was a proud WW2 veteran serving with the First Canadian Parachute Battalion in Europe.
He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener who grew the best garlic. Bill volunteered with the stream keepers and watched over Simms Creek for many years.
He recently celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends.
His family would like to thank Dr. Friderichs and the amazing staff at the Yuculta Lodge hospice unit where he spent his final days.
He will be truly missed by his family, friends and neighbours.
