Warren John
ULLEY
November 7, 1950 – October 13, 2008
It is with great regret we announce the sudden passing of Warren John Ulley. Born in Montreal, Warren was raised in the country by the river where he enjoyed many water sports with his dear sister and loving parents.
Warren left for the west coast in 1971. He began his logging career in Port Alice. In 1981 Warren was hired as a Business Agent for N. Vancouver Island. Warren was Local 1-71 President from 1987-1992 when he transferred to the IWA-Canada National Office where he served until 1996 as a thoughtful and determined leader in the IWA.
Warren went back to the industry to work in Management roles with Kingcome Enhance Forestry, Interfor and Timberwest. Warren showed that a solid Trade Unionist can in fact maintain his principles and values while working a management position.
When not dedicating himself to work Warren enjoyed his passion for boating and fishing with his family and friends. Warren was a huge hockey fan and was exuberant when cheering on his favourite team. He adored his cats and dogs.
Predeceased by his father Milton in 1993, Warren is survived by his loving mother Joan (Calgary) sister Susan, brother-in-law Keith, nephews Dale and Dallas (Calgary) his son Kristopher (Kelowna) and his dear friend Laura (Dartmouth).
An intimate celebration of Warren’s life has been held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
