It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Wally, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with Alzheimers/Vascular Dementia.

Left with an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his loving wife of 64 years Evelyn, daughters Kelle (Pat) and Melanie (Kevin), grandchildren Jordan, Taylor, Joshua and Logan, great grandchildren Archer, Kinsley and Faline.

A proud Icelander, Wally was predeceased by his parents Olie and Gudrun, 3 sisters and 7 brothers.

Born in Winnipeg and raised on the farm in Pebble Beach Manitoba, Wally taught in a one room schoolhouse before moving to Campbell River to work at Elk Falls mill for 35 years. Wally spent countless hours salmon fishing in the waters off Campbell River, playing his guitar, but most of all he cherished his family. He returned to college upon retirement to learn the craft of fine furniture making, a hobby he loved and worked at till he was 83 years old.

Special thanks to: Nanaimo Home and Community Care, Nurse Next Door, Paramedics, staff of NRGH 5th floor and Palliative Care.
