Sheila Anne
Anne was born January 25, 1938 in Leamington Spa, England and died quietly at her home in Campbell River on October 11, 2004. She was predeceased by her parents; Basil and Connie Jones. Anne is survived by her loving husband of 39 years; Bob, sons; Philip (Sherry) and Peter, two grand daughters; Maryann and Carolyn, brother; Michael (Roberta) Jones, nephew; Christopher Jones, niece; Annabell Jones, aunts; Peggy and Olive and several cousins.
Anne sailed to Canada in April of 1962 to work as a Physiotherapist in Edmonton, moved to Powell River in 1964 to work at the Powell River Hospital Physio Department and met Bob. They were married on Oct. 30, 1965. Their two sons were born in Powell River and the family moved to Campbell River via Mackenzie in 1972. Anne worked as a Community Physiotherapist at the Health Unit and part-time at the Campbell River Hospital Physio Department and devoted many volunteer hours to the Red Cross Loan Cupboard.
Anne had many interests in gardening, square dancing (25 years with Ripple Rockets), tennis, skiing, sailing, playing bridge, exploring B.C. and taking tours when visiting England. The family give special thanks to Dr. Helen Garson, Dr. Philip MacNeil and to Barb Boniface, all the other "Angels" at Home Care Nursing and also to the People at Home Ladies.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 228 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 followed by a luncheon reception in the hall. In lieu of flowers donation to the Canadian Cancer Society Resource Centre, 1423-B 16th St. Campbell River, B.C. V9W 2E4 or to the Campbell River SPCA, P.O. Box 541, Campbell River, BC, V9W 5T9 would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Services and Elk Falls Crematorium, #103-909 Island Highway, Campbell River.
