December 4, 1932 - December 22, 2020
It is with great sadness that I announce my Mom's passing on the evening of Dec. 22, 2020 at the Campbell River Hospital
She is predeceased by her Loving Husband Paul Lange on September 24, 2018 and by her oldest son J. Thomas Lange on August 23, 2018. She is survived by her son Michael.
Mom was born in Schwab Gmund, Germany on Dec. 4, 1932. My dad had immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1953. In the fall of that year Mom followed him to the Land of Opportunity to start a new life together. Marriage followed on Dec. 19, 1953 in Courtenay BC.
They first lived in Black Creek until eventually moving to Campbell River and their present home by the old pulp mill. Together they lived there for almost 60 years. When Dad died in September of 2018, my mom was heartbroken. After almost 65 years of marriage, that will undoubtedly happen.
Mom was the heart of the family. She was very goal oriented and full of drive. A very humble and practical lady to say the least. She never flaunted what she had or who she was.
Her favorite pastimes were tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved to bake and cook. The house always smelled so good. Mom also enjoyed travelling throughout Europe and all the Hawaiian Holidays in the winter time with Dad. Mom especially loved the cruise ship life.
I would like to thank Dr. Mehin and all the Alder Medical Nurses for all their wonderful care they gave mom over the years. A special thank you to the Campbell River Hospital Nurses on 3B for their compassionate care during Mom's final days.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no service by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation in Rosa's name.
