It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Alexander Crawford, son of two Salt Spring pioneer families. Born June 14, 1938 and died July 28, 2007 here on his beloved Salt Spring. He leaves to mourn his wife of 44 years Ernestine nee Brewer, his sons Bill (Kathy) and Chris (Sydney) and his (girl) Susan (Brian Reid), seven beloved grandchildren, Gavin Reid, James Crawford, Jackson Crawford, Maxwell Crawford, Carter Crawford, Colin Reid and Gage Crawford. Also, his eldest brother Jim who lives here on Salt Spring, Tom (Dee) and his daughter Nicolette Morrison (Mike) and her daughter Christine with her daughters. His sister Rosemary (Brian - deceased) and his youngest sister Libby Simmons (Ron), his sister-in-law Lorraine Brewer and her children, Tony (Carla) and his three daughters, Robin (Michelle) and step-son Dillon and his niece Natalie Hentley (Larry). Lots of family who mourn him in N.B. The memorial service will be held at 2 pm on August 4, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). Reception to follow at the church.
