It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Opa, and grandfather, Reinhold Thomas or “Tom” as he was known by many.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers in Germany. He will be missed by his children, grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
Reinhold came to Canada as a younger man in 1953 and was full of passion for his new country. He pioneered in mining which was his learned profession and worked for many years in the field. Tom was definitely a “jack of every trade” having a knack for so many things. In 1967 he settled with his family in Powell River where he worked 23 years for MB until his retirement in 1992.
In 2007 he and his wife moved to Campbell River to be near his family.
A private family service has taken place.
