Patrick Joseph Fahey

October 22, 1945 – November 29, 2012

Paddy left us peacefully on November 29, 2012 at the age of 67 in the presence of loved ones at the Campbell River General Hospital.

Paddy was born and raised in Powell River, BC.  As a young adult, he moved to Campbell River where he met his best friend and love of his life Sharon. They married on November 4, 1967 and had 3 beautiful children Clayton, Rob and Hailey of whom he adored.

As a young family they moved to Gold River where Paddy owned and operated his Pile Driving Company and then later his Crane Company.

As the boys grew and their desire to play a more competitive level of hockey arose, the family relocated back to Campbell River. Around this time Paddy’s true passion for Minor Hockey was ignited.

Paddy or better known to many as “POPS” spent many hours in the arena watching and supporting all kids of minor hockey. He was a permanent fixture in the stands, offering his candies, his jokes and his knowledge of the sport of hockey.

Pops took great pride in all of his grandchildren near and far (Texas), whether he was cheering from the sidelines or waiting patiently with his IPAD for texts, he was always their greatest fan.

Pops is survived by his treasured wife Sharon, their three children Clayton (Paige), Rob (Rebecca), and Hailey (Mike), as well as his 10 beloved grandchildren Hunter, Payton, Jackson, Sage, Georgia, Skyler, River, Eliza, Soryn and Katie. He is also survived by countless extended family; finally, his cherished girl Bentley.

It has been made so clear by the outpouring of support and sympathy that Pops truly touched everyone who met him.

The family would like to send out great appreciation and heartfelt thank you to the many nurses and physicians who helped in Paddy’s extraordinary care at the Campbell River General Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Ramsey, Dr. Beselt and Dr. DeBruin.  A big thank you to the nurses in Medical Daycare: Maria, Barb, Maria M, Dianne and Nancy; thank you to the ER nurse Biff; and thank you to the 3 South nurses Christine, Sammi and Maggie.

At request there will be no service and in lieu of flowers if family or friends so wish, donations can be made in his honor to the Campbell River Minor Hockey Association.

“Every day is a great day for hockey.” Mario Lemeiux
