Olga Bilesky

August 14, 1924 – January 12, 2020
Mom was born in Trail, BC on August 14, 1924. She moved to Campbell River in 2008 to be closer to her family.
She slipped away peacefully in death at The Evergreen on January 12, 2020.
Mom was well known for her quick wit, sense of humour and competitive spirit. She was very fashionable; knowing not to wear white after Labour Day, purses and shoes had to match as well as necklaces and earrings. Every hair had to be in place plus she could have taught Emily Post a thing or two about manners.
Her unwavering faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses helped her through many of life’s trails, especially through her failing health in later years.
Locally she is predeceased by her son, Gerry Beer and his wife Nicole formerly of Port Alberni, and her son-in-law Don Jesse. Mom is survived by her brothers Victor Bilesky (Spokane WA) and Jim Bilesky (Castlegar BC), daughters Janice Jesse and Lynda Snagg (Eric) of Campbell River. Nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including local niece Joanne Webster (Graham).
The family acknowledges with appreciation: The Evergreen administrators, nursing staff and care-aides for the excellent care they gave Mom during her year of residence. We would also like to acknowledge with thanks, the Harbour View Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for their prayers and support.
There will be a private family gathering in Trail, BC later in the Spring.

ONE AMAZING MOMENT
My heart is slowly mending
With time the pain recedes
And words now said in comfort
Will swallow up my needs
The joy of life eternal
My mother now awaits
Asleep she is and resting
The word of God relates
But one amazing moment
With joy I’ll look upon
The day of resurrection
My mother’s pain is gone
She’ll walk among her flowers
The birds will now be free
To perch upon her fingers
What joy I then will see
So for Jehovah’s Kingdom
My heart will now await
He’ll bring to life a banquet
And fill my mother’s plate.
