Sep 10, 1965 - Apr 16, 2018
Olga Astrid Lavigne, 52 years of age, born September 10, 1965 in Santa Marta, Columbia - resident of Campbell River, B.C. lost a short battle with cancer beginning November of 2017, and passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 6:05 am.

Olga was married in Castlegar, British Columbia to her spouse of 20 years, David Lavigne. She spent many happy years as a caregiver to children of working parents and was well loved and respected by the community of Campbell River.  She went beyond the typical caregiver duties and involved the children she watched in many educational and memorable activities and loved them as she would her own. Olga enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting, but by far her favourite hobby was gardening and this was evident in her beautiful and abundant gardens year after year.

Olga is survived by her husband David Lavigne, son David Wilson Lavigne, stepson Lance Lavigne, stepdaughter Courtney Nadon, her parents Victor Zabala and Carmen Consuelo de Zabala, Grandmother Manuela, 4 sisters (Marina, Martha, Patricia, Jasmine) and 3 brothers (Tico, Hernan and John).

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to Red Cross, or your local Hospice or Cancer Society in her name.

Special thanks to the doctors and staff that helped to make Olga's battle with cancer just a little bit easier.

"God looked around His garden and found an empty space - Then He looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. - He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest - God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best" (Author Unknown)
