Nicole Hannem
April 2, 1988 -March 9, 2013
It is with great sadness, but with absolute love, that we must say goodbye to a smitten, loving and spirited Daughter, Granddaughter, Cousin, Niece and friend. Nicole passed away peacefully on March 9th 2013 and will be forever missed by her Father and Mother, Douglas Hannem and Lana Hannem, her Step-Mother Teresa Uzell, her Grandmothers Beverley and Marg and her many cousins, Uncles, Aunts and friends she has left behind.
Nicole taught the people she knew best how to seize every passing moment with excitement, optimism and a care-free open mind as Nicole was a fearless and strong young woman. Nicoles love for animals and the tranquility and peace that nature gave her is truly the essence of her soul. Nicole spent most of her life enjoying the beauty and grace that the land provided. She spent many weeks living on her Grandmothers property in Sayward, BC where the air, river and wildlife gave Nicole a serenity that only her free heart could appreciate. As a child, Nicole grew up to love the outdoors whether it was at Grandmas with her Mom and cousins, at her Dad's logging sites, fishing with her Dad and family, practicing her aim shooting in the woods or innocently playing with her cousins while camping, running on beaches or playing in backyards from dawn until dusk. Nicole had a special gift whereby being around her she made others sing and dance like no one was watching, laugh until you cry and share and love with an open heart. Her devotion to her loved ones and her ethic of staying true to herself was truly memorable and rare. Nicoles spirit was so large, empowering and open that only Mother Nature could understand the totality of her warmth and has given it back to her as she deserves. May Nicole always rest in peace surrounded by Great Danes, the ocean and her loved ones who have passed before her. A celebration of life will be held June 15th 2013 to honor the luminous life of Nicole Hannem.
