Mohinder Singh, aged 55, of Campbell River, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 19, 2004 at Victoria General Hospital. Predeceased by his father, Swarn Singh Sihota and his mother Harnan Kaur Sihota, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his family: wife Ajmer; son Navkaval; daughter Ruby; brother Mohan Singh Sihota and his wife Gorbax Kaur Sihota of Nanaimo; sister Surjit Kaur Sandhu and her husband Harbans Singh Sandhu of Delta, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mohinder immigrated to Campbell River from India in 1968 and worked at the Campbell River Mill for 29 years. He actively served as secretary-treasurer for the Guru Nanak Sikh Society, as well as being a respected member of the Indo-Canadian community in Campbell River. In his leisure time, he loved spending time in his garden and spent countless hours reading, studying politics and current events. He had a constant passion for knowledge and was extremely well read. Mohinder had great respect and compassion for people as well as animals, particularly our family dog “Damasio”.

A special thank-you to the Campbell River and District Hospital’s emergency staff and the ICU team at Victoria General Hospital, for their exceptional care of Mohinder.

Viewing and cremation will take place on Saturday, November 27th at 12:00pm from Elk Falls Crematorium and Memorial Chapel, located at Elk Falls Memorial Cemetery, Campbell River, Highway 28 at General Hill. Followed by a religious service at the Sikh Temple, 735 Pinecrest, Campbell River at 2:00pm. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Services and Elk Falls Crematorium, 103-909 Island Highway, Campbell River.
