October 17, 1944 - April 19, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael Francis Vassallo, announces his passing which occurred on Wednesday, April 19, 2021 at the Campbell River Hospital, Campbell River BC.
Born on October 17, 1944 in Liverpool, England. Mike was the son of the late John and Ann (Gelsin) Balls Creek, NS.
Mike was well-respected in his community. He enjoyed woodworking and bird watching as hobbies and was very gifted at both. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mike will be forever missed by his daughter Michele (Kevin) Graham, sons John (Julie) Vassallo Matthew (Donna) Vassallo, his grandchildren Lucas, Logan, Makayla, Paige, Emma, Lily, Sisters Peggy, Anne Marina, Lorraine, Teresa, Mary, Brothers Bernie, Pat, Robert, Joseph.
Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his loving wife Andre, Brothers John, Frank, sister Carm.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Lebeouf and the Nurses and staff involved, for all of their care and compassion of Mike.
Cremation has been entrusted to Boyd's Funeral Services, Campbell River, BC. Due to Covid-19 border restrictions the family service and interment will take place once border travel restrictions have been lifted to allow travel.
In keeping with Mike's wishes, he will be brought home to Cape Breton by his daughter Michele, and laid to rest with his beloved Andre in Dingwall NS. If possible at that time a celebration of Mike's life will be held.
