Merlin John Kegler passed away peacefully in Campbell River, British Columbia on January 1, 2007. He was predeceased by his wife Leona, and his sisters Violet and Myrtle. Keg is survived and will be sadly missed by his sons; Barry (Heather) of Campbell River, B.C., Brian of Coquitlam, B.C. and Randy of Campbell River, B.C., his daughters; Cindy of Campbell River, B.C., Valerie of Campbell River, B.C. and Laura (Dan) of Nanaimo, B.C., his grandchildren Raymond, Janine, Ryan and Stefanie as well as many nieces and nephews. “Keg” was born in Saskatchewan and ventured off to join the Navy during WWII. He came back to Saskatchewan to work and met his wife. They started their family and then headed for the west coast. He worked his whole time here for B.C. Hydro. Keg loved to whistle and putter away time in his vegetable garden and shop. He was a quiet, kind yet stubborn and fiercely independent man. He was proud of his children and all of their accomplishments. He was always quick to laugh at a joke and loved nothing better than to gather his family around him. He will be sadly missed.
