Saks, Maurice Fraser October 30, 2013


Maurice Fraser Saks, born in Calgary, Alberta, Jan. 15, 1964, gently passed away, with his partner Gordon at his side on October 30, 2013 in Campbell River, BC. Always into the wind, the wind never at his back, Maurice suffered a long term illness followed by a sudden decline.

Maurice was preceded by his mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Saks, in 1977, and by his father, James C. (Jim) Saks, in 1980. He is survived by his partner Gordon of Campbell River, BC, brothers, Paul and Jim Saks, sisters, Liza (Wally) Chupik and Julia Saks of Calgary, AB, his Aunt and Uncle Isabel and Dennis Wray, Port Moody, BC, along with his Burnaby cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

In memory of Maurice and his love for all animals, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campbell River S.P.C.A.

At Maurice’s request there will be no formal service; however, a tea in celebration of his life will be held at the home he shared with Gordon, #33 – 2520 Quinsam Rd., Campbell River on November 7, 2013, beginning at 12:00 noon.

As per Maurice’s wishes, his ashes will be sent to his family in Alberta to be scattered along- side his mother’s at Pilot Pond.
