Mary Loraine “Lorie”
(nee Halliday)
born on august 17, 1933 in Alert Bay, BC, passed away suddenly on April 26, 2004 in Nanaimo, BC. She is predeceased by her husband Harold of 45 years on January 1, 2004, her mother Mollie in 2001, and her father Ernie in 1988. Lorie is survived by her two daughters Heather (Gord) Thompson and Laurel (Harry) Spence, three grandchildren Troy, Briden, Rayce, her “adopted” daughter Sharon (Lorraine), numerous cousins and friends. Harold and Lorie owned an Antique and Collectible business in Nanaimo and Vancouver, and were active in the field for over 20 years. She was also an active member of the Canadian Addison’s Disease Society on Vancouver Island. Lorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial tea will be held for Lorie on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at 1:00pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lorie’s memory to the Charity of choice.
