Malacai will be deeply missed by his mother, Linda, his father, Ron and his sisters: Abigail and Asher; Aunts: Marissa (Hong Kong) Marilyn (Phillippines), Belen, Sally, Roga and Antoinette (Vancouver) Uncles: L.A., Elex, David and his cousins: Asef, Rashida, Sajid (Hong Kong), Angela, Anthony and Don (Phillipines). Mal will also be remembered by his numerous friends from Robron and Carihi Secondary School as well as the GIBC Youth Group (Vancouver) and Pastor Bennie.
Malacai was a gifted artist with amazing talent and his work will be treasured by all. He will always be remembered for his unique sense of humour, outgoing attitude, approachable and friendly manner and his willingness to go out of his way to make you smile in any situation. His natural athletic ability was also a gift. He was a multiple sport athlete who especially enjoyed basketball. He deeply cared for his family and always had time for his friends. Mal had a way of warming up a room, his presence was always felt and could make a day turn into one filled with smiles and laughter. He was easily pleased and rarely complained. Mal had the ability to build or repair anything from just looking at a picture and he never ceased to amaze.
A Viewing will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 34 S. Alder St., Campbell River, BC on Saturday, October 28, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00a.m. with Fr. Anthony Divinagracia as celebrant. A Celebration of Malacai’s Life and Reception will follow after the mass from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church social hall. If friends so desire, a donation in Malacai’s memory may be made to the Carihi Secondary School Art Program, 350 Dogwood St., Campbell River, BC., V9W 2X9.
