LILIAN EILEEN

NESLING

January 12, 1923 – April 3, 2009

At home on April 3rd, after a dif? cult

battle with cancer Lilian died with

her family at her side. Lilian leaves

behind her loving husband John,

of 55 years, her children Seamus

(Eleanor), Nick (Lynnette), Will, Ed

(Miriam) and Helen.

“Nettie” will be missed by her

seven grandchildren, Marussia, Kyla, Nadine, Meghan,

Carolyn, Caleb, Ronen, and three great-grandchildren.

Lilian is survived by her siblings, Amy, Julie and Harry and

many nieces and nephews in Great Britain and Australia.

Lilian was born in Hackney, Greater London, England to Ann

and Harry Simonds. Her British work life included a period in

post-war occupied Germany before emigrating to Australia.

After meeting John on the ship the two of them spent many

years traveling around Australia and New Zealand before

emigrating to Canada in 1970. Their travels continued in British

Columbia where they made homes in Victoria, Cortes Island,

Gabriola Island, Nanaimo, and most recently Courtenay.

Our family wishes to acknowledge the excellent medical

attention provided by Dr. Simon Colgan, and the nurses

from VIHA, Home and Community Care, and Comox Valley

Hospice.

A memorial service will take place in the next few weeks. Date

to be announced.
