It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Cousin Lea who passed away in the North Island Hospital after a multitude of health issues.
Lea was born in the farming community of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. A place she always held close to her heart. Her Father and Mom felt the call to the West and moved the family to Nanaimo, BC in the late fifties.
Lea grew up in Nanaimo but always remembered her farming roots. The family always sent her Brother Dan and her to spend the summers on her Uncle Rick's and Aunt Diana's farm back in Gilbert Plains. With the urging of friends, Lea moved up to Prince George where she met her husband Gordon. In 1980 they were married in Nanaimo and came home to Prince George to begin there life together. Shortly thereafter, in 1983, they were blessed with their first daughter Jennifer.
In 1987 they had an opportunity to move Campbell River which allowed them to be closer to family living in Nanaimo. They were blessed a second time the birth of Rebecca. Family was the most important thing in life for Lea. She loved the role she was given as Mom, Grammie and Homemaker and wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Lea leaves behind her husband, Gord, daughters Jennifer (Marc), Rebecca, and granddaughters Aimee and Lily, along with numerous nieces and nephews and of course her fur baby buddy Ruby.
