Lance William Klaasen

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lance William Klaasen, beloved husband to Eileen and loving father to Nathan and Jeremy, on April 02, 2023.
Lance was born in South Africa in 1938. He and Eileen were married in 1963, then emigrated to Canada in 1966. Within 6 days of arriving in BC, Lance had secured a teaching position in Campbell River where he taught mathematics and later computers and T.V. production to high school students. He was a Director of C.R.T.V. for 6 years, President of the Twinning Society, as well as being involved in many other local organizations. Although Lance spent the last 57 years in Campbell River, he traveled to over 20 countries with his wife and family. He loved his garden where he grew his own vegetables, fruit trees and flowers; especially roses.
Lance is survived by his loving wife Eileen, sons Nathan and Jeremy (Chanel), his sister Linda - as well as many other relatives and friends - and will be sadly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church on Saturday, April 29th at 2 pm.
