John passed away at the Campbell River Hospital on November 29, 2020. He was predeceased by his wife Sylvia (Jan. 6, 2011) and is survived by his sons Darrell (Lori) Tweedy and Tony Allen, daughters Cari (Mike) Bro, Shawn (Rick) Stephens, grandchildren Mike (Victoria), Allan, Ashley (Tyler), Kris (Lori), Kevin, Matt (Raelyn) and Alyssa (Arthur), 10 great grandchildren, sister Jean (Allan), niece Diane and nephew Edward.
John worked as a supervisor in the forest industry. He knew every backroad in the north island. In his leisure, he enjoyed woodworking, building stuff for family and friends, motorbiking, camping and winters in Yuma.
John was a knowledgeable man about history. He knew so many people as he lived his whole life on the island. He was born in Cumberland and moved to Campbell River to raise his family and work.
John was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
