SLAVIN

John (Barry)

Born 30-October-1935, passed away suddenly on 10-December-2004, in Campbell River Hospital. No service at this time by family request. He leaves behind one sister in Campbell River and five adult children in Alberta. Barry was part-owner of Bill and Ed’s T.V. in the late 50’s. He was an inspiration to those who knew him by his determination to be totally independent and self-supporting even after loosing both legs in the 80’s plus loosing his ability to communicate and the use of his right arm to a stroke many years age. His hobbies right to the end included photography and electronics, and he was especially fond of his reel-to-reel tape equipment. Barry will be missed by his many friends of Forde House on Larwood, the staff of Radio Shack, the staff of Discovery Foods, the drivers of Handi-Dart, and everyone else that knew him.
