Joan Moffat of Campbell River passed away peacefully in her sleep, August 3, 2020 at the Campbell River Hospital at 89 years of age.
She was born and raised in Vancouver B.C. and moved to Campbell River with her husband, Donald Frances Moffat over 30 years ago to be close to her grandchildren and of course to fish! She and Don spent many years fishing, enjoying nature and making friends in Brown's Bay, Vancouver Island.
Immensely proud of her family, Joan leaves many loving memories with her children, Roberta (Larce),Susan (John), Brian, grandchildren, Rob (Jenny), Stacy (Ken), Kim (Garrie), Clifford (Amy), Michael (Annette), Carrie (Marcus) and great grandchildren, Justin, Sydney, Jeremy, Aaron, Christopher, Lizzey, Zoey, Cedar, Willow and Nikkey. Aunty Joanie will be missed by her sister-in-law, Lola and her nephews and nieces, Joy, Paul, Terry, Sharon, Jim, Michael and Marilyn.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Donald, brother Bill, daughter Fran (Barry), son Billy and grandson Max.
Joan worked for many years as a bookkeeper and data processor at Jack Cewe Ltd before retirement. She was a member of TOPS for 42 years where she made many lifelong friends and used her skills to help out the club.
Joan continued to exchange cards and letters with connections and friends who loved her and will miss her, including immediate and extended family, friends of family, co-workers, fishing buddies and neighbours. She carried everyone she met in her heart.
We will love you and miss you always!
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan would be appreciated by the C.R. Red Cross.
An Open House / Celebration of Life will be held in Joan's yard, August 29, 1 - 4 pm.
