Hayden Blair Kozeletski

“Something I find to be very important in my life is expression. Whether it be drawing, sculpting, writing, or music, I can always find a way to relax through doing these things.” -Hayden Kozeletski

With great sadness we announce the passing of Hayden Kozeletski on December 19, 2010. Hayden died suddenly. She was 16 years old.

Family and friends knew Hayden as a unique and courageous individual. Hayden was the one who leapt off the highest point at the lake or surfed the biggest wave. She was never afraid to be herself, with her fashion, her art, her poetry, her music, and her point of view. Hayden inspired everyone around her. She was a fun-loving, free-spirit.

She taught herself piano and guitar. A music lover, Hayden decorated her room with posters of the Beatles and Bob Dylan. She was an extremely gifted artist and writer, and recently began making short films with her video camera.

Hayden started sewing and knitting as a young girl. Friends and family treasure the hats, scarves and blankets she made. An exceptional illustrator and painter, Hayden was interested in attending art school in the future.

Hayden was a passionate lover of animals and nature. She enjoyed mountain climbing, fishing, and camping with her parents, Phil and Barb, and her younger brother, Cole. Her greatest joy was the freedom she felt while she was boarding.

Hayden reached for excellence in everything she did. She was beautiful inside and out. Hayden will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and the entire community.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2pm at Quinsam Wellness Center: 2005 Eagle Drive, Campbell River, BC.
