Hattie was born at home on the farm near Plato, Saskatchewan. She and Arnold moved to Campbell River in l944. She was a member of the United Church, Willow Point Lighthouse Circle, Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge as well as being a teacher in the first cooperative kindergarten. A student of Sybil Andrews, she loved drawing and painting.

Hattie loved her family and took great pleasure in participating in their lives. We cherish the memories she left us. She will be greatly missed and ever loved.

The family thanks Dr. Rob Ramsay and the staff of Evergreen Seniors Home for their compassionate and loving care.

A memorial service to celebrate Hattie's life will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00pm in the United Church, 415 Pinecrest Road.

She did not need much, wanted very little.

A kind word, a garden, kisses, books to read,

sheltering arms, a cozy bed

and to love and be loved in return.
