Guy Irwin
Guy was born June 24, 1922 in Bracebridge, Ontario and passed away at Campbell River Hospital, January 21, 2007. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie, parents, sisters Blanche, Vivian and brothers Eden and Doug. Guy is survived by his son Doug; daughter Debbie Van Solkema (Louis); grandchildren Casey, Codey, Coryllee, Leilani, and Kaitlynn, sister Bernice Cross and extended family Bill Van Solkema (Corinne), Emelie, Evan; Lisa Greer (Pat) Paige and Dan and many nieces and nephews.
Guy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII as a flight mechanic. Guy attended Jubilee Community Church, Colwood with his wife Marjorie where they were both loved and missed when they recently moved to Campbell River. He also was a standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Prince Edward Branch in Langford. Guy left the Air Force where he studied in Galt, Ontario for interior decoration and become a painter. He enjoyed gardening. A Celebration of Guy’s Life will take place at Elk Falls Chapel, at Elk Falls Cemetery, Highway 28 at General Hill, Campbell River on Thursday, January 25th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow.
