Gudrun “Ruth” Wasilenchuk (nee Johnson)
November 1, 1943 – February 16, 2013
After a brave struggle with ALS, Ruth passed away peacefully at her home.
Ruth was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Campbell River in 1966 with her husband Mike, of 44 years, until his passing in 2010. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her daughters; Irene (Mike), Mary-Ann (Jim), Lorianne (JP), Kim (Ewan) and her nine grandchildren Mariah, Alisha, Shae, Billy, Callum, Angus, Ella, Emily and Kiera. Ruth is also survived by her siblings; Lorna (Henry), Irene (Gary), Cheryl and Paul.
We would like to thank Dr. R. Sutherland, Home Care (Barb and Marlene) and the Caregivers for all their support. We would also like to thank the ALS Society and the Red Cross who made it possible for Mom to remain at home.
A service will be held in Saskatchewan at a later date.
