Bill Piercy passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Comox BC after losing his battle with cancer and dementia. Bill was born June 22, 1936 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife Mary; son Michael (Louanna); daughter Lynn (Randy Staschuk); grandchildren Bradley, Rachel, Rebecca, Adam and Jarred, great-grandchildren Natalia and Nykayla, and his sister Patricia.

Bill began his working career as a Road Surveyor before switching paths to pursue his calling in Education. His first position brought him to Camp 5 where he closed down the camp as the last teacher of the one room schoolhouse. He then moved to Campbell River where he became a fixture in the education system fulfilling roles of Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal at numerous elementary schools as well as a school Trustee before his “full retirement.”

A special thank you to all health care providers, especially those at Comox Valley Seniors Village, who helped make his last time comfortable.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sutton Funeral Home, 502 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River. In lieu of flowers a contribution to the Campbell River and District Adult Care Society would be welcomed.
