Evelyn Gertrude Toms
1929 ~2011
Evelyn passed away peacefully at the Campbell River hospital on May 19th.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Hildur and Arthur Oakleaf, her brothers Ted (Joan) Oakleaf and Ken (Anna) Oakleaf, long-time friend Doreen Setchell and former husband of 35 years, Robert Toms.
Evelyn will be sadly missed by her daughter Nancy (Malcolm) McDonald, son Michael (Carol) Toms, grandchildren Jeremy and Samantha, sister Helen (Bill) Cliff, sister-in-law Anne Oakleaf and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Evelyn was born in Sudbury, Ontario, and enjoyed a long career as secretary with Falconbridge Metallurgical Laboratories, in Thornhill.
Mom moved to Banff, Alberta in 1985 and then to Vancouver Island to be with her family.
We would like to thank the staff at the Campbell River Hospital for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
No service by request. Interment of ashes will be in Rosseau, Ontario at a later date.
