Elmer was born in Riverhurst, Sask.

After finishing school, he joined The royal Canadian Navy. in 1942 he was sent to England where he served on Mine Sweepers and P.T. Boats until 1946. On return to Canada he met and married, “Tilly” (Matilda Jane Holt) his first wife, in Camrose Alta. In 1946 they moved to Sayward BC, where their daughter Beverly was born. Elmer started his own Logging Outfit, and also a Backhoe Operation on contract for MacMillan & Bloedel until his retirement in 1990.

He was predeceased by his wife tilly in 1960.

elmer is survived by his second wife Dolores, Step-children Debbie, Dale, John & Jodi; his brother Orvil; his daughter Beverly Lloyd and granddaughters Georgia (Peter) Kuehnel and Leona (Rene) Hamouth; Great-grandchildren Matthew, Mia, Dax and Angelique, also nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering to be held at the Sequoia Springs Golf club, 700 Peterson Road, Campbell River, on Sunday, March 28th, 2004 from 1:00-4:00p.m. to celebrate Elmer’s Life.
