Edith Haszard passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River on March 3rd, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband C.F.L. (Ted) Haszard, IN 1975, her 6 brothers George, Baden, Ralph, Gwyn, Will and Walter Parker and her 2 sisters Maud Parker and Miriam Ward.

Edith is survived and will be lovingly missed by her son Geoff (Lauren) Haszard of Cold Lake, Alberta, her daughter Jo-Anne (Dave) Collis of Black Creek, B.C., her grandchildren Krista Collis of Ponoka, Alberta, Andrea Collis of Campbell River, B.C., Shannon Haszard of Yellowknife, N.W.T. and Jim Haszard of Calgary, Alberta, her sister Nancy Colman of England and her nephew and niece Fred Ward and Dawn Stewart. Edith was a member of South Minister United Church in Lethbridge, AB, one of the founding members of McKillop United Church in Lethbridge, AB and a member of both the Lethbridge Symphony Choir and the McKillop Church Choir. She was a volunteer secretary with the Victorian Order of Nurses for 20 years and received an honorary key to the City of Lethbridge in recognition of her volunteer work. Edith worked as a Loans Officer at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Lethbridge. In her leisure time Edith loved to sing, play golf, travel, read and walking around Henderson Lake was one of her favourite pastimes. Edith will always be remembered for her friendly smile, ability to make friends wherever she went and her sense of humour. Her tenacious spirit helped her through many of her life’s challenges. Her optimistic outlook on life, her strong sense of pride in her family and home were strong values throughout Edith’s entire life. A Memorial Service will take place at Yucalta Lodge, 555 - 2nd Ave., Campbell River on Saturday, March 11th 2006 at 2:00 p.m. ISLAND FUNERAL SERVICES / ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, CAMPBELL RIVER entrusted with arrangements.
