Clark, Donald H. passed away peacefully with his 3 favorite girls at his side in Campbell River Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the age of 72.
Predeceased by grandson Nathan (2009), sister Eunice, brother Bob as well as parents Harold and Olive and in-laws Glenford and Edith Bellrose.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Diane; children Cindy (Calvin), Rodney (Jackie), and Shelly; grandchildren Jamie, Karena (Bruce), Andrew, Cody, Levi, Morgan (Kenzie), Colton, Dillon (Joelene) and Natasha; great grandchildren Talica Ann, and Olive Rose; siblings Beryl (Gerry), Darryl, and Carol (Chuck); extended family Delvin (Sheila), Connie (Laverne), Linda (Glenn), Debbie (Dan), Perry (Melanie) as well as Auntie Vivian and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Don was born in Saskatchewan and lived the majority of his life there working his passion – farming the family farm. Over the years, he was also a volunteer fireman, machinery dealer/salesman, telephone line man, electrician, hotel owner/operator - there wasn’t a challenge he wouldn’t tackle. He knew how to work hard, fix anything, was a “Jack of all Trades”. He and Diane retired to Campbell River in 2002.
He never lost his strength, courage, faith, sense of humor, integrity, kindness and willingness to help others and was a great inspiration to many even though he battled serious health issues from the age of 29 years.
His strength and courage was admirable and is a huge part of his legacy.
His favorite time was that spent with his family and friends sharing stories (especially about curling, ball, &golf), music and visiting.
To know him was to love him.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the United Church, 415 Pinecrest, Campbell River, B.C., with lunch to follow. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Saskatchewan.
