David Wallace Craig passed away at the Campbell River Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of 37 years, his Aunt Annie Graham, his two sisters, Shirley Penny (Vincent) and Madeline Smith, 4 nephews, 3 nieces and their 14 children.

He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Emma Craig of Campbell River and his brother-in-law, John Smith.

David was born in Winfield, Alberta. He grew up in Duparquet, Quebec where his parents moved when he was 3 years old.

David attended Lorne Park College in Port Credit and the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, Ontario.

David and his wife moved to Campbell River in the spring of 1974 when he was employed as an instrument technician at the Elk Falls Mill. He retired at the end of December 1999.

David was a kind, gentle person who loved fishing. He will be greatly missed by his wife and his large extended family.

The family would like to thank the Home Care workers, doctors and nurses who gave David their compassionate care and help during his lengthy illness. They would also like to thank David and his wife’s many friends who gave them moral and physical support through these trying times.

David requested cremation and that there be no funeral or memorial services.
